Why are we always convincing ourselves that in order to make any kind of a lifestyle change we have to completely revamp what our daily nutrition choices look like? While it is true there are some people who will have to make drastic changes, most people aren’t really that far off the mark. And while some peoples goals will require a massive shift and will have a pretty complex approach to their nutrition; most people just need to become aware!

If you have worked with me, you have heard this before; but, if I can challenge you to do one thing, it is this…

Every time you sit down to eat ask yourself the following 3 questions…
1. Where is my Protein.
2. Where is my Vegetable.
3. Where is my Water.

There are other factors to look at but if we just start here, can you imagine how much you would improve your choices?… Not just going to grab the chips off the top of the fridge, or plow down the kids leftover macaroni and cheese (although it is delicious).

And above all realize if you have big changes to make there will be some points of discomfort, but they don’t last forever! You don’t have to be as conscious of your choices to maintain your weight (really body fat, but that is a whole other topic) as you do to lose. And when you make changes that are sustainable you create a new habit instead of it feeling like a “DIET”.
